Power up your brush
While your teeth are supposed to last a life time, our toothbrush is not. Even if you properly cared for it, the average life span of a tooth brush is only 3 to 4 months. After use, rinse it and let it dry before using it. When bristles start to splay, distort and soften, replace it as soon as possible. By following this, you can ensure that your primary tool for maintaining good oral health care remains up for its job.
Brush 2 times a day
Make it a habit to brush your teeth at least twice a day, second before going to bed. This will keep your teeth in top form. Brushing your teeth and tongue with a soft-bristled toothbrush and tooth paste cleans food and bacteria from your mouth. Brushing also washes out particles that eat away the teeth which caused cavities.
Don’t over brush
Over doing things does not bring any good to you as so over brushing. Over brushing will cause your tooth enamel (which protects your teeth) to wear down. When the enamel is not there, it exposes the layer of dentin. Dentin has tiny holes that lead to nerve endings. When these are triggered, you will feel all sorts of pain. Based on studies, 20% of adults suffer from pain and sensitivity.
Brush gently
Don’t brush too hard that it may damage your gums and tooth enamel. Gently brush your teeth from top to bottom, in every sides and tiny spaces. It is advisable that the bristles of your brush are smooth enough but strong in brushing away food particles.
Brush your teeth like you’re polishing an eggshell, gently and smoothly.
Applying these tips will surely get you into the way of teeth whitening this Christmas. Make sure to share this too to your friends!
